Traveling is usually a rough experience when you are on the road. This leads to a frustrating experience when you are in a hotel with “internet” but can’t connect to it because the connection is wired. Thankfully HooToo has made the HooToo® TripMate Nano Wireless N Pocket Travel Router as not only a means to connect to internet, but as an electronic jackknife for the traveling man.

Do not let the size fool you. This is a powerful device and at that price you get more than what you bargain for. My set up is: 120 GB SanDisk Extreme SSD and this amazing device. I can now access all my photos music and videos from anywhere in the house on my HP laptop, my iPad air and my iPhone. It took me 10 minutes to set it up and be on my way. Wonderful product I highly recommend it.

When I stay in hotels such as the Hilton, you first connect to wireless and then open a browser to put in your room info. For a laptop it’s pretty easy but I have more gadgets: cell, tablet, internet radio… so I thought the Nano would be the answer, where I set it up once and all my devices can just feed from it w/o having to set them all up individually.
Do not buy if the network encryption type is ‘None’

Some background: I get free internet in my apartment complex. Its an open network (lets call it OPN) with no password. For the technically inclined ones (this becomes important later), the network properties are

I just received my HooToo device and although it works, I’m a little disappointed. As indicated by the majority of reviews, set up is a breeze. I had the device hooked to my AP and was able to access a USB flash drive from my Android phone and tablet without issue in under five minutes. I only tested streaming music files, but I suspect video would work equally as well.
This is the Chromecast/hotel WiFi Solution you are looking for

Just received this little guy two days ago and love it. To set it up is much easier than TP-LINK TL-WR702N. Both of them are looked very similar. When powering up HooToo, my Nexus 7 & 5 can see it. With downloading “HooToo TripMate” app, I can read my thumb drives, external drives and playing music, video clips on drives. So far I have only tried its bridge mode. It is very easy to set it up by logging into 10.10.10.254 with Chrome browser on my wi-fi’ed Nexus. I can bridge a SSID to get on internet. With TP-LINK, I am having problem to log into its TPLINKLOGIN configuration. The only problem on this HooToo is that after turned off power, it would not keep the setting. You have to log in 10.10.10.254 to scan a SSID again. Usually I do not leave a feed back here. But after searching on web and found this HooToo Com Inc. is a one man company starting from 2010, I must write something to give this little guy a big thumb up! Also, I have placed an order its “[All-in-1] HooToo® TripMate Wireless N Portable Travel Router (5200mAh Power Bank, USB Storage Wi-Fi Media Sharing, Access Point, Wi-Fi Mini Router & Bridge)” for my oversea trip next month.

First off let me say I do not know what the other gentleman with the negative review is talking about. There certainly is a Hootoo website at hootoo dot com and furthermore I have gotten responses from email@example.com email within 24 hours usually.
